Position: Lead Wood Heat Installer (WETT Certified)

Horizon Climate Controls Ltd. (HCC) has been delivering trusted HVAC services across residential, commercial, and industrial sectors for over 27 years. In 2024, we acquired and integrated the wood heat division of Western Wood Heat — a name trusted in Williams Lake since 1978 — to support our continued growth. We are committed to top-tier service and the safe, efficient operation of every system we install. We’re seeking a WETT-Certified Wood Heat Installer to lead our wood heat service division. This is a key leadership role ideal for someone with experience in installing and maintaining wood-burning appliances. You’ll take ownership of projects, provide expert client support, and help us expand this growing service line.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, quote, install, and service wood-burning stoves, fireplaces, and chimney systems
  • Conduct WETT inspections and provide installation assessments
  • Read and interpret blueprints, manuals, and technical diagrams
  • Ensure all work meets local codes and safety regulations
  • Provide clients with education on safe usage and long-term maintenance
  • Collaborate with HVAC and gas teams as needed to complete complex projects

 

Qualifications

Required:

  • 10+ years of experience in wood heat installation
  • WETT Certification (installer, inspector, chimney sweep, pellet appliances)
  • Strong knowledge of installation codes and safety practices
  • Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills
  • Fluent in spoken and written English
  • Valid Class 5 Driver’s License

Preferred:

  • HVAC system knowledge (installation or servicing)
  • Class B Gasfitter certification
  • Experience quoting projects and meeting client timelines
  • Background in managing contract or seasonal installation work

 

Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary: Starting at $67,000+ based on experience
  • Hours: Full-time (overtime available in peak seasons)
